Setting Up Pangolin

So, you’ve unboxed the Pangolin, gotten the cables ready, and are now ready to set up.

While we have shared some simple setup steps in the box, we understand that some of you may want more detailed information about how to boot up and set up your Pangolin for the first time.

Here is a quick diagram of a typical deployment scenario for the Pangolin:

That’s why we’ve built this page, so that you can refer to a visual guide step-by-step guide that will get you through setting up the Pangolin on your home or office network!

  1. Plug the provided Ethernet cable into the solo slot (it’s the one of the left when you’re looking at the back of the Pangolin). Then, plug the other end of the cable into an open port on your router, but not the one that you use to plug your modem into.

  1. Plug the power adapter into a socket, and then connect the cable to the back of the Pangolin. If you are in a region that is incompatible with 12 volt, 1 amp power adapters, be sure to use a power adapter converter such as those used for travel.

  1. Your Pangolin’s green LED light will then begin to flash after a short while. First it will blink slowly, then quickly. This is not a cause for alarm, it just means that your Pangolin is downloading an update from our network. This process should take up to 20 minutes the first time you do it. DO NOT UNPLUG THE POWER OR ETHERNET CABLE AT THIS TIME

  1. When this happens, it’s time to register your Pangolin on our app - which you can download from the iOS or Google Play stores. If you’d like a direct link, please click here: Apple iOS / Android.

  2. Once you’ve downloaded the app, please proceed to register an account.

  3. Start up your Pangolin app after downloading it for your iOS or Android device.

  4. When you first tap “register”, you’ll be asked to enter your email address, phone number, and a password.

  5. During registration, please make sure you do not enter additional spaces or special characters before or after your email address.

  6. Also make sure to tap “show” on password to ensure what you’ve entered is correct and the one you want to use.

  7. You’ll be sent an email verification. You'll need to open that email, click or tap on the link, then confirm the verification when the website opens.

  8. Now it’s time to finishing setting up your Pangolin.

  9. All you’ve got to do is scan the QR code sticker on the bottom of your Pangolin.

  10. Once the Pangolin registration process is complete, you’ll be able to fully access all of the app’s features.

  11. When the LED light has stopped flashing and turned a solid green, it means the update has finished.

  12. Please note that it may take a few minutes for all devices connected to your network to appear in the devices
